Ute Trails Car Club
One of the local favorite traditions associated with Cherry Days is the annual appearance of the Ute Trails Car Club. The club brings a host of classic cars to join in the Cherry Days parade, and then fi nd their way to the park so festival goers have a chance to get up close and personal with classic rides from a bygone era.
The car club was founded several decades ago and although most of the founding members, like Calvin Campbell and Ellen Smith, have passed on, the club is still going strong. They get together a few times a year to show their mid-century masterpieces to the general public and even give out several scholarships to local high-school graduates. Look for these classic machines during the Cherry Days parade on the 4th and at the south end of the football field in the Paonia Town Park following the parade.
