The Cherry Days Pit Spit Contest
The Premier Event of Cherry Days, the Cherry Pit Spit, will be held Saturday, July 4 near the center of Town Park. Cash Prizes are awarded in each group for distance and accuracy! Contestants can register at the Cherry Days Booth, near the playground at Town Park. Registration closes 15 minutes before each contest. You will be competing with contestants from all over the country. So once cherries are available, you better “Get your Spit on”!

The contest:
- Each contestant will get 3 cherries (ages 5-10 will get 2 cherries each).
- Each cherry will be eaten one at a time, saving the pit of course. No hands can be used once a cherry goes into the mouth.
- Each pit will then be spit for distance or accuracy…or both!
- The distance winner is determined by the greatest distance a pit is spit MINUS a handicap for those over 6’ tall. (for every inch over 6’ an inch will be subtracted from distance).
- The accuracy winner is determined by a pit (or pits) landing in a target(s). If there is a tie, there will be spit-off for distance.
