2025 Cherry Days King Candidate

Gabe is the son of Megan Collins.

His coach and AP Math teacher, Eric Hollenbeak, claims that Gabe is dedicated in the classroom and an important varsity player in football, basketball, and track. Mr. Hollenbeak cites Gabe’s noteworthy management capabilities, along with his outstanding motivation, as characteristics that will serve him well.

Gabe was involved in the Future Business Leaders of America for two years and served as Vice President of Membership. He also served as a Soul Miner Officer for three years, where he organized multiple art-related events around the community. Gabe was also a member of Miner Mentors and enjoyed helping 8th graders make the transition to high school.

As a three-sport athlete, Gabe participated in football, basketball, and track during his high school career. He was named Team Captain of the football team and made the playoffs all four years, earning 1st team All-State and 1st team All-Conference and volunteering in youth football camps. He also served as Team Captain for varsity basketball and participated in a basketball youth camp.

Gabe is eager to further his education at Western Colorado University, where he plans to pursue a degree in marketing while continuing his football career at the collegiate level. He believes that his communication and leadership skills align perfectly with a major in marketing, and while he is looking forward to playing football for Western, he knows that furthering his education is paramount to his future and plans to set himself up for strong career opportunities after graduation from college.
